What’s Been Inspiring Me Lately

1  //  2  //  3  //  4  //  5  //  6  //  7  //  8   January and February have been real for me! This is my first time working from home and it has been challenging to say the least. And the constant cold weather and snow have definitely been no help! I’ve had to try so hard for the past months to stay motivated and inspired. It’s been tough, to say the least. One way I’ve helped myself stay inspired is by focusing on my health and wellness. Nothing better then a good workout and some self-rejuvenation to help you feel motivated. I’ve been taking care of my skin and taking time for myself to disconnect and unwind. One of my favourite ways to unwind has been taking warm baths, exfoliating my skin and incorporating more yoga into my workout routine! I’ve also been taking more time to pray and read my devotional every morning with my husband. Which out of everything listed above, really is the most fulfilling! Like I said, it’s been a tough few months staying inspired. And these are just a few things that help make me feel good and motivated! What are your go-to’s during the Winter slump to help you stay motivated? xo Lauren

What’s Inspiring Me Lately

Heart Pillow / Jade Roller / Rosehip Oil / Himalayan Salt Lamp (on sale!) / Rug / Print / Bubbly Bears / Diffuser / Throw / Tassel Pillow   The January blues has definitely set in for me! I always struggle in January to stay motivated. Here in Toronto, we’re snow-covered, it’s freezing and grey almost every day. It’s definitely hard on the body and mind, so I try to find ways to give me a little cheer. In the Wintertime I spend 90% of my time at home! I love being out in the Summer, but when Winter comes I’m in full-blown hibernation! This year, I decided to give my home a little refresher for January. I am a pretty minimal when it come’s to colours in the home. But, I decided to add blush accent’s in to give it a little cheer! I’ve just been LOVING blush for the home. Especially that Target carpet – so cute! I also recently purchased a Himalayan Salt Lamp that I am absolutely crazy about. I definitely recommend that too. It’s so calming with its warm glow. I’ve also been loving the jade roller to relax the skin on my face. And I am crazy about rosehip oil! I’ve been using it on my face for 3 months now and I have seen amazing results. I have always had blemishes on my face that without makeup on are dark and noticeable. Since using the rosehip oil, my blemishes have lightened up considerably! So…

3 Reasons Why I Love My Luxy Hair Extensions (more then my real hair)!

I always get so many messages on Instagram about my hair! Whether its real or not, what colour I dye it, how I curl it etc. Today, I decided to talk all about my locks (which you know by now are fake lol) and why I personally love my Luxy hair extensions more than my real hair! Hair extensions and I go way back! I’ve worn hair extensions for about 10 years now and I honestly love them. I know some people aren’t about that #fakehair life. But, hair extensions have a lot of pros when it comes to doing your hair and they can make you feel more confident too (and what girl doesn’t love that)!? Way, waaaaay back in the day when I was in high school I used to have real long hair like above. Because I loved to straighten my hair, and my hair is naturally curly, I decided to cut it to make it more manageable and easier to straighten. Now, this was a huge mistake since my hair grows like really, really slow! And, because I used to love to dye my hair back in high school which ultimately made it unhealthy. So, when I was 17 I decided to try hair extensions for the first time and never turned back. Now not all extensions are made the same. But, I’ll get more into that later. First here are the 3 reasons why I love my hair extensions more than my real hair: 3…

3 Reasons Why You Should Dress-Up for Day Dates

Dress: ASOS (under $60!) | Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Purse: H&M | Sunglasses: Aldo (similar) So if you haven’t already noticed, Qais and I are super serious about our weekly dates. We’ve been together for almost 10 years. And we really do believe in the importance of dating your spouse. We usually go on a date night weekly. And we also add in some impromptu day dates after we’re done shooting for the blog. I used to be pretty casual dressing up for day dates. Usually a pair of jeans, sandals or flats and a cute tee or blouse. But since some of our dates are after shooting some looks for the blog, I have become pretty obsessed with dressing for day dates! That being said, here are my 3 reasons why you, girl, should be dressing up for day dates: 1.Because you get major use out of your wardrobe! The great thing about dressing up for day dates is you can pretty much throw anything on from your wardrobe! I love pairing some trousers from work with a cute blouse and sandals. Or a dress with one of my favorite heels (like the pair above). I am a huge believer and having your wardrobe work for you in every way. So it doesn’t hurt to have your work wardrobe “work” for dates too! 2. Because you can play around with some #trendingoutfits I personally don’t play around with trends for date night, for the most part. Especially if…

Wedding Season Ready with Marshalls

Dress: Marshalls (only $39!! – but similar here and here) | Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar here) | Purse: H&M (under $30!) | Earrings: Kate Spade | Sunglasses: Shades Crush c/o It’s officially wedding time and I can’t wait to attend my first wedding of the season! I absolutely love attending weddings and seeing the love in the air, eating the food and of course enjoying a few free drinks from the bar! I also love buying dresses for wedding season. And ask my hubby, each wedding I attend I need a new dress! I mean when else do you have an excuse to buy a dress and only wear it once!? I tend to splurge when it comes to buying guest-of-wedding dresses for no good reason except that I just want to, lol! But I think I found good middle ground that will keep my hubby and wallet pretty happy. I actually found this gorgeous dress I’m wearing at Marshalls for only $39! It regularly retails for $80 and is a amazing guest-of-wedding dress in my opinion! I couldn’t believe how many options for GOW that Marshalls had. I actually had to narrow down my selections! When I tried this dress on I knew it was the perfect dress to kick off the wedding season. It’s the perfect length, I love the crochet overlay and the high neck is such a nice detail to really pull the dress together. And to keep it simple I paired it with my black sandals…
