On February 14th, the hubby and I celebrate 5 years of marriage! We’ve been together for 12 years now but celebrating 5 years of marriage feels like a bigger milestone. My marriage has been the biggest blessing of my life and something that I cherish each and every day. With that being said, marriage has definitely had it’s challenges but it’s also grown me as a person in ways I couldn’t imagine if I wasn’t married.

I don’t know about you. But after a long weekend, a holiday or a vacation I always struggle to get back into my rhythm of work. My Morning Skincare Routine for Dry Skin!

Hey guys! I shared my morning skincare routine on my IGTV and realized I never posted it to my blog! Not sure how I completely forgot, lol. Before this morning skincare routine, I had SUPER dry skin that was prone to breakout and blemishes. I can confidently say this routine has dramatically changed my skin in all the ways I needed it to. Firstly, my skin is now SO moisturized! And secondly, I get a lot less breakouts then I used to. Summertime used to be horrendous on my skin, especially with all the humidity we get here in Toronto. Now breakouts are (almost) a thing of the past! I can also honestly say, I can swear by Tula. I’ve seen their skincare products everywhere and was skeptical, to be honest. But, their Dual Phase Pads I’m using in the video below is a game changer! Watch my video to find out why! 🙂 I’ve linked all the products I’ve used below: Tula Dual Phase Reviving Treatment Pads The Ordinary Salicylic Acid Bioderma Hydrabio Vitamin E Face Cream Woolzies 100% Rosehip Oil (linked similar) Laneige Cushion BB Cream w/ SPF 50 xo Lauren

Real Talk: Condos, Struggling with Inspo + Blog Changes

Top | Shorts | Shoes (similar) Happy Monday, guys! I have sat staring at my monitor for a good hour, trying to figure out what to blog about. There has been so much happening in my life lately. And I’ve been unsure about what to share and what not to share. I debated making an entire post about this look, which honestly, I don’t have much to say about lol! I mean it’s one of my favorite looks lately. But, it’s kind of boring to read an entire post about why this look is my favorite. So, that being said I decided to start a new blog series. And become more open and raw with you guys! I mean, I personally LOVE blogger updates. So why not share some stuff and make a blog series about it, right? The Life Edit: Condos, Struggling with Inspo + Blog Changes: Okay, life has been cray-cray here are the Sheriff’s house. SO many big changes. Here’s the lo-down: 1. We bought a condo in the city! And we are EXCITED! Toronto is a hot market for real estate. So to own real estate in Toronto is a big deal. And we feel beyond blessed and really excited! Well, I was excited at first but then got a major strike of anxiety for the past week. We bought a penthouse on level 35, which has a beautiful view of Toronto. That is of course amazing. But my anxiety got the best of me and…

My Top 5 Healthy Snacks for on the Go!

I don’t know what it is, but lately, I just feel like talking about fitness and healthy eating! I am no expert, by any means, but I do try to eat healthy every single day. But I won’t lie to you guys, I am a huge sucker for eating out and I have a major (like MAJOR) sweet tooth. I could eat chocolate and cake every single day, no lies. Since I’m always on the go too. I’m also a huge sucker for drive thru’s! Such an integral process to me losing weight and eating clean was cutting out fast food on the go. When I sat down and realized how much fast food I was eating, I was in shock. Sometimes you gain weight and don’t realize how you’re doing it. But when you really think about what you ate for the past day or write it down you’ll be shocked, lol! I sure was. That being said, I’ve decided to share some of my fave snacks for on the go. Some are quick bites before you leave your house. And some are purse and car-friendly snacks! Let me know what you guy’s think of my healthy snacks and I’d love to know what your go-to healthy snacks are too! xo Lauren

Celebrating 10 Years: How We Met

A couple of Saturday’s back, Qais and I celebrated 10 years together! If you ask either one of us, it’s honestly felt like five minutes. It’s crazy how fast time goes by and I for one wish it would just slow down a little bit! I’ve been getting a lot of requests for doing a post about how Qais and I met. So here it is! How Qais and I met 10 years ago… (I’m going to keep it as short and sweet as possible) So Qais and I met back in highschool. We were both 16 and I had just transferred to his high school to attend school with my best friend! I knew a lot of other students at Qais’ high school since I went to elementary school with them. But I moved out of the district and had to attend another school in the same town. The weird thing is Qais and I always went to the same parties prior to me transferring to his school. But we oddly never met. We had SO many mutual friends too, but still never crossed paths. It was literally fate the way we met, lol! So it was a snow day at school and usually, I don’t go to school on snow days, but this day I decided to go! My best friend and I were trying to find a seat in the cafeteria but managed to embarrass ourselves and left the cafeteria laughing so hard we were crying, I…

Major Must Have: Kick Flare Jeans for Spring

Jeans (under $100)| Top (c/o) | Shoes (similar) | Purse | Hat OK, I once again found a new style that I am head over heels about! So if you’ve been following me for awhile, you’ll know I never used to be into jeans. Like not at all. I used to spend most Winter’s wearing skirts and tights. I literally stayed far, far away from jeans. As I started blogging, I really learned what I love in a pair of jeans. Firstly, I love quality in jeans. A good pair of jeans that will last wear after wear and wash after wash. I also love light wash jeans more than dark. And I love trying new styles of jeans. I also learned that all jeans fit differently and just because you’re one size in a certain pair of jeans, it doesn’t mean you’ll be the same size across the board! Which seems common knowledge, but I didn’t know that lol! So onto my new obsession. These kick flare jeans are SO good guys, like SO good! I’ve been a fan of Urban Outfitter’s BDG denim since last Summer! The quality and the fit are amazing for the price point. Now I’m trying to figure out what I keep buying Zara jeans, lol. Anyways, these kick flare jeans from BDG are killing it in fit and comfort. These babies are so lightweight and stretchy. And they are SO on trend right now, which is always a big win! I sized up from…

Random Life Update!

Top | Jeans | Jacket | Boots (similar) | Purse Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve given you guys a life update. Sometimes it’s just nice to share what’s going on in my life with my blog readers. It’s almost therapeutic to write it out. Especially since these last few months have been such a huge change for me! So where should I start… WORK LIFE: Firstly, life has been HECTIC since Shop Basic Babe has started. Now, SBB isn’t my first business. I owned a children’s store before. But man, is SBB teaching me SO much. I feel like once you own your own business, you kinda feel like you know what you’re doing. But I’m learning I don’t. I’m so thankful I have such a great team helping me with SBB. I am learning soooo much about branding, marketing and really how to make an online business work. And it seriously is more work then I expected. So naive I know. Overall, the online shop has been a hustle but so good at the same time! My blog is getting a facelift – which is much needed! So excited to show you guys the reveal. It was just time to freshen it up and re-brand. I’ve also felt like it was just time. My blog and brand has grown and changed so much in the past year and I really wanted to reflect that! And in other EXCITING news… my husband (who…
