Fall Must: A Pleated Midi Skirt

Top: Tobi c/o | Skirt: H&M (this colour isn’t available online – other colours here)| Purse: H&M (similar) | Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Sunglasses: Shades Crush c/o I have never honestly been a midi girl until this Summer. I’ve always thought I was waaaaaaay too short to wear a midi skirt until I randomly bought one from Boohoo a few months back. You can see that skirt here. After rocking this skirt all Summer long I decided to add another midi to my closet! It was actually Qais who sniped this skirt first. Which is weird since he always zones out when we go shopping, lol! He told me he really liked it and so I decided to try it on and LOVED it! It reminds me of Christmas, for whatever reason, and I think I’ll be wearing it to church for our Christmas Eve service. Majorly thinking ahead, I know! Anyway, I am really into this colour and the pleats are just perfect! I wanted to make it not look so dressed up so I paired it with this lace up sleeve crop from Tobi. Which, would totally look cute with some high waisted denim too! I wasn’t sure if I could pull this top off since I tend to gravitate to a bit more feminine. But I think it really works with this skirt! PS.. you may see this skirt again in the next few weeks with a dainty blouse! I just love it that much!!…

Blush Wrap Dress

Dress:Tobi | Hat: H&M | Shoes: Kelsi Dagger c/o (on sale and under $100!)| Clutch: H&M (love this one here) | Sunglasses: (similar)I am in total style heaven with this blush wrap dress for Fall! I know you guys must be getting so annoyed with me talking about wrap dresses on the blog. But, they are just so chic and easy to wear that I can’t help myself, lol! The only thing I regret doing is not getting it in navy too!! Also, if you follow me on Instagram you would have seen me get a few pairs of Kelsi Dagger shoes. Firstly, they are nothing short of amazing! The leather is so supple and soft, and the quality is seriously amazing. They are a bit more than what I usually spend. But, if you are looking for a quality boot for Fall then this is it! The sandals I’m wearing above are sooo comfy! I wish I got them in the beginning of Summer so I could wear them more. I’ll just have to wear them as much as possible now since the cold weather is definitely coming really quickly! And real fast. This wool hat from H&M is just to die for! It’s like a light brown with a blush belt around it! It really is such a sophisticated hat to add to any outfit! I’ve linked it above and it’s under $30! This dress also fits TTS and it’s on sale! So you better snag it! Shop New…

Girlfriend Jeans

Top: Similar  | Jeans: Tobi (on sale!) | Purse: Foley + Corinna | Shoes: Sam Edelman (on sale!) | Sunglasses: Similar Happy Labor Day! Qais and I are having a slow weekend just enjoying each others company. It has been such a nice few days without a schedule and we have been loving the super slow start to our mornings (which is so rare, we are always on the go)! Today’s post is going to be short and sweet, as I’m sure many of you have a full day plan unplugged! Recently, I have been getting really into growing my jean collection since I am not much of a jean girl whatsoever. I’ve been trying new styles out and really trying to find out what styles suit me and what I like. These girlfriend jeans are really new to me, and are similar to boyfriend jeans but not as loose! I never thought I would try a looser fitting jean but I saw them online and thought I’d give them a go. I think they’d look great paired with a tighter fitting bodysuit, crop top, or a knit bell sleeve top like the one I’m wearing! Fit wise, they are really comfortable to wear and great quality too. I definitely think jeans and a bell sleeve top are going to be my new Fall uniform! I am totally stocking up on both pieces ASAP! Shop New Fall Arrivals from Tobi! xo Lauren

Fall Must: Suede Skirt

Top: Rachel Roy | Vest: Missguided (50% off!) | Skirt: Missguided (50% off!)| Shoes: Sam Edelman (on sale!) | Purse: Foley + Corinna | Sunglasses: Shades Crush Happy Friday and long weekend-eve! Qais and I don’t have any solid plans for the long weekend, but we may spend time with family and go wine tasting. Which, is always a good idea in my books lol! As you probably know, I am getting really, like reaaaally, excited for Fall! I’ve been stocking on all things mustard, tons of booties and my favorite Fall staple, suede! I love suede everything. Suede pants, skirts, tops (I actually don’t know if that exists, lol) and of course suede boots! But, suede skirts are just so good for the cool and crisp weather. They offer not only warmth but obviously style too! This skirt from Missguided is not real suede. I don’t think I own any real suede, to be honest. But this “faux” suede does the job in comfort and style. One of my favorite places to buy faux suede anything is actually H&M. They just kill it in this department and I highly recommend checking some of their ‘faux’ suede pieces out when you get a chance! Also, I am dying over this vest I snagged from Missguided! When I saw it I knew I had to have it and now I can’t even take it off, lol! AND if you really feel like shopping, Missguided is having 50% off EVERYTHING with code ‘americanbabe’! xo Lauren

Currently Crushing On: Fall Florals

Dress: Missguided | Shoes: Sam Edelman (under $50!) | Purse: H&M (similar) | Sunglasses: Nicole Miller Guys, two things you really need to get into if you haven’t already. Fall florals and wrap dresses! They are the two best prints and styles for Fall, in my opinion, and I am totally crushing hard on them! If you haven’t jumped on the wrap dress bandwagon from Summertime, then you need to NOW! It seriously is so flattering on so many body types and makes such an easy pull-together look. I have been stocking up on as many as I can get my hands on after buying my first wrap dress here, lol!  This dress from Missguided is more like a faux wrap dress since it doesn’t actually wrap. But it gives it that wrap dress illusion, which I like! I actually featured it as one of my top 5’s on this post here. I couldn’t resist it and ended taking the plunge and purchasing it! I mean it was 50% off so why not?! My second major crush is florals for Fall. Florals are obvious for Spring, but florals for Fall are amazing too! I especially love black florals but I’ve been really into yellow and mustard lately, so I am really digging these lighter ones too! 3 Staple Pieces You Need for Fall

Dress: Rylee & Cru | Cardigan: Rylee & Cru | Boots: Aldo (suede version here) | Purse: H&M Happy Monday! Can you believe this weekend coming is already Labor day weekend!? I can’t believe how fast August flew by. It’s been crazy! The weather here in Toronto has already cooled down, which is bittersweet. I already miss the Summer heat but I am looking forward to cool and crisp days! And I’m even getting excited about Christmas, lol! Anyways, with every new season comes with new season staples. I love filling up my closet with pieces that will get a lot of wear! Even if you don’t have an extensive wardrobe these 3 staple pieces will definitely take you through the season fashionably! 3 Staple Pieces You Need for Fall: 1. A cozy cardigan If you live in a cold climate, like me, you know that being warm is at the top of your list! Especially, when Winter hits. A great piece for Fall that easily transitions into winter is a warm and fuzzy cardi. I love a neutral cardigan that you can throw over anything. One of my favorite ways to style a cardigan is over leather leggings and over-the-knee boots! They are just so versatile, easy-to-style and most importantly warm! 2. A pair of pointed black booties Truthfully, I love a pair of nude or gray booties. But, at least one pair of black booties will get you a long way with almost every outfit! My style tip would be…

6 Draped Trench Coats you Need for Fall!

Jacket:  Missy Empire (under $60!) | Dress: Forever 21 (under $20!) | Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Purse: Foley + Corinna | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Choker: Mejuri What do I love about Fall? Pumpkin spice lattes (how cliché), homemade soup, and super cute jackets for layering! What I hate about Fall? That it’s next to Winter, lol! But let’s focus on the positive. Fall equals coats and coats equal the one classic you should own in your closet right now. The trench coat. And if you don’t own the trench coat, um why not? It’s such an essential layering piece and literally screams “this girl is classy!”, lol! But, for real, the trench is a staple for Fall. And, if you don’t own one yet, that’s okay! I’ve rounded up my favourite 6 draped trench coats. Which is kind of like a cross between a duster and a trench! Which I think is so fab! It’s so easy to style. Think over basically anything in your closet. Whether that’s a pair of jeans and converses, trousers and heels or a midi and sandals! Check out my list below and tell me when one is your fave: 6 Draped Trench Coats you Need for Fall: Missy Empire River Island Joe Fresh Boohoo Express Boohoo xo Lauren

Under $50 Denim You Need to Buy Right Now!

Top: Zara | Jeans: Zara | Purse: H&M (similar) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Choker: Mejuri | Shoes: Sam Edelman (on sale!) You guys know I am not a huge jean girl, whatsoever! I feel most comfortable in skirts, dresses and trousers. I have always struggled to find the right pair of jeans for my body. They tend to always be too tight around my hips and too loose on my legs or butt. So annoying. So for awhile, I’ve just avoided jeans completely. But, as the cooler weather approaches, I’ve decided to give denim one last go. Firstly, who else is loooooving the high waist trend these past few seasons? Love it. I am so over low rise jeans, and honestly, high waist jeans feel so refreshing, and classy. Now I know high waist jeans aren’t for everybody’s shape. But if you’ve been looking for a fabulous pair of jeans that are on trend and a great fit, Zara high rise jeans are killing it! These are my second pair of high waist jeans from Zara! They have the perfect amount of stretch, but not too much that it will lose its shape. They’re stretchy throughout the leg, but stay up without a belt. Another win! I’ve just been so impressed with Zara this season, and think the denim quality has definitely been upgraded. So whether you’re looking for high waist babies, like these ones above, or these I wore last week here, I think you’ll really love Zara’s jeans this…

Top 5 Mustard Dresses for Fall

Dress: Zara | Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Purse: H&M (on sale!!) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Happy Monday! Yesterday was such a great day here at the Sheriff’s house. We rented an SUV and took an impromptu day trip out to Prince Edward County (it’s about two hours east of Toronto). It’s a beautiful county, with a lot of small towns within it, wineries, and a lot of really good food! So Qais and I packed our puppies and headed out bright and early to get some time away from our regular hustle and bustle. Nothing is better than planning a last-minute trip to just shut off your busy mind and to discuss and plan your future. It was so wonderful and relaxing! I hope all of you guys had a relaxing weekend too! I posted this dress a few days ago on my Instagram and it was a big hit. Fall is right around the corner and to be honest, I am so ready for it! I love getting ready for a new season. It brings new goals, new opportunities and, most importantly, a new wardrobe! 😉 I’ve always been into the colour mustard for Fall. It’s just so flattering on everybody and just encumbers everything Fall is about. I mean that and the PSL, am I right? In honor of the new season ahead and my new obsession with this mustard dress from Zara. I decided to round up my top 5 mustard dresses I am totally loving for Fall! Top…
