3 Spring Staples You Need Right Now!

Top | Jeans (similar) | Shoes | Hat | Sunglasses c/o Okay, I am having SO much fun with Spring’s fashion! If you haven’t played around with this season’s hot styles yet. Then no worries, I’m gonna break them down and tell you what you need to try! And girl, give them a go. Cause fashion should be fun! So let’s just jump straight to it… 3 Spring Staples, You Need Right Now: 1. The Newsboy Cap I’ll admit it, I was really scared to try this trend. And truthfully, it’s not just a Spring trend as it’s been kicking around for awhile. But, if you try only 1 trend this season, please try the newsboy cap! it is such a cute hate that makes such a statement with your outfit. Plus, you can wear it with everything. A blouse and skirt, a pair of jeans and a tee and your favorite dress! It really is such a versatile accessory that needs to be tried! 2. The Kick Flare Jean I have a whole entire blog post on the kick flare jean! These jeans I’m wearing are more of a straight crop though, but still SO good! If you’re looking to add jeans to your Spring wardrobe, please, do not pass these styles up! They are so chic, effortless and give every outfit an extra oomph. I always look for high-waisted versions of these styles too. Cause high waisted jeans is just the way to go! 3. The Crop Top Okay,…

Pants (similar) | Top | Shoes (similar) | Purse Happy Friday! What a crazy week it has been! I started my week off in NYC, which always inspires me and makes me want to move there pronto! I told Qais we should move to NYC for a year then to LA where we actually want to end up lol. It was such a quick trip in and out of NYC. I was there buying for Shop Basic Babe. But for some reason, it took me 2 days to recover and to finally feel energized. It’s so weird how much travelling takes out of you! Although, I picked up some REALLY cute items for Shop Basic Babe. So I can’t wait to show you guys those pieces!! Anyways, I am SO into wide leg pants lately. I only own one pair, but I’m making it my mission to add much more for Spring. It was 14 degrees Celcius a couple days ago in Toronto. So I threw on this blouse and these white wide leg trousers for the ultimate Spring transition look! Trend to Try: The Pajama Shirt

Bodysuit | Jeans | Boots (similar) | Jacket | Purse Honestly, who would have thought it would be cool to wear your pajamas out in public? I mean in elementary school I always avoided pajama day cause I thought it was strange, lol. I clearly thought pajamas were for sleeping only and it took awhile for me to jump on this new trend! I’ve been seeing this trend everywhere lately! And it honestly hasn’t tickled my fancy. Most of the pajama trend has a lot of big prints on them. And as you guys know, I’m not a print kind of gal. But when I was at Zara last weekend I found this beauty and knew I had to have it! Firstly, I LOVE bodysuits so that was the first win. Secondly, it’s white and neutrals are always a win! After trying this on with my favourite jeans I am now officially a love of the pajama trend. And not to mention the materials for this pajama trend is silky (or faux silk in my case) goodness. Because I think you should try this trend too (why not?), I’ve linked a few fave pajama tops below. And no worries I didn’t link any crazy prints or colours! 😉   xo Lauren

Faux Fur + High Waisted Jeans

Jacket: H&M | Top: Zara (similar) | Jeans: Zara | Boots: Aldo (similar) | Purse: Aldo Happy hump day, babes!! If you haven’t already noticed, I am loving all things faux fur! Would I say it’s an obsession? Um, yes, definitely! I honestly can’t get enough faux fur in the winter for its style and warmth. And trust me, this particular jacket is WARM! I’ve been wearing so much faux fur lately it’s not even funny! I just wrote a blog post, last week I think, rounding up my top 5 faux furs. So if you’re as crazy as I am about this furry goodness then click here to read! There are just so many good pieces of faux fur this season it’s hard to choose. So why not buy a few? Lol! Another obsession of mine has been Zara’s high waisted jeans. They are SO good! I don’t like to spend an arm and a leg buying jeans. So Zara is usually my go-to for jeans under $50! But, this season, in particular, their high waisted jean game has been on point! These pair above are my third pair of high waisted jeans from Zara and I just can’t get enough! So if you’re looking for a flattering pair, that won’t break your budget and that is available in different washes. Also, my surprise will be revealed this week! EEEK…! xo Lauren

Dress: Zara | Top: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Boots: Marc Fisher | Purse: Aldo | Sunglasses: Shades Crush Anyone else feel like this Fall has so many good trends? I mean between the baker boy caps and bell sleeves I am just loving what this season’s trends have to offer! One trend I really wanted to try was the overall dress or the dungaree dress. Now, this trend has been around since Summer. But Fall just felt like the right time to jump on the bandwagon, if you will! One of my favourite things about the overall dress is how many ways you can style it! It’s so cute with bell sleeves under (my personal fave) or with a t-shirt. It’s such an easy trend to pull off for basically anyone. Plus, it looks so cute with over-the-knee boots or even with fresh white kicks! So many ways to style this little dress and so little time, cause it’s already freezing here in Toronto lol! Because I am loooooving this trend here are my top 5 overall dresses! 3 Fall Items You Need in Your Closet Right Now!

Top: H&M | Jeans: Zara | Boots: Aldo (similar) | Belt: H&M | Purse: Aldo Guys, if you’re anything like me, you like to always have go-to staples in your closet for each season. Go-to staples, in my opinion, make pulling outfits together easier! A few staples can help keep you trendy and give you an effortless vibe. And what girl doesn’t want to look effortless each and every day? I know I do! For me, I like to keep my staples affordable and neutral. That way, if it’s a trendy piece it won’t be hard to part with at the end of the season. And if it’s neutral, I’ll have so much more options to pair it with! These staples are key to great styling and will help you feel fab and pulled together for the rest of Fall! 3 Fall Items You Need in Your Closet Right Now: 1. Trendy item – A Corset Top / Faux Layer Blouse Firstly, let me start off saying any trendy piece will make do here. I am just naming what I am wearing above. But, if you’re not a fan of the corset or layered top. Then try bell sleeves like here or a chenille cardigan, like here, instead! Every season, I always try to have a few really trendy pieces to play with. I love having fun with fashion and there is nothing wrong with buying a couple of trendy pieces each season! My tip would be to always save…

Under $50 Denim You Need to Buy Right Now!

Top: Zara | Jeans: Zara | Purse: H&M (similar) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Choker: Mejuri | Shoes: Sam Edelman (on sale!) You guys know I am not a huge jean girl, whatsoever! I feel most comfortable in skirts, dresses and trousers. I have always struggled to find the right pair of jeans for my body. They tend to always be too tight around my hips and too loose on my legs or butt. So annoying. So for awhile, I’ve just avoided jeans completely. But, as the cooler weather approaches, I’ve decided to give denim one last go. Firstly, who else is loooooving the high waist trend these past few seasons? Love it. I am so over low rise jeans, and honestly, high waist jeans feel so refreshing, and classy. Now I know high waist jeans aren’t for everybody’s shape. But if you’ve been looking for a fabulous pair of jeans that are on trend and a great fit, Zara high rise jeans are killing it! These are my second pair of high waist jeans from Zara! They have the perfect amount of stretch, but not too much that it will lose its shape. They’re stretchy throughout the leg, but stay up without a belt. Another win! I’ve just been so impressed with Zara this season, and think the denim quality has definitely been upgraded. So whether you’re looking for high waist babies, like these ones above, or these I wore last week here, I think you’ll really love Zara’s jeans this…
