Currently Crushing on: GRLFRND Jeans

Jeans | Cardigan | Bodysuit | Boots (similar) | Purse   I haven’t done a currently crushing blog post in a long while and it’s definitely overdue! Especially with these GRLFRND jeans! OMG! I am obsessed. Like I would totally wear these every single day if I could! If you’ve been following me for awhile you may know that I never was a jeans girl. I could never find a pair that flattered my legs. And I could never find a pair that would hold it’s shape and look good after months of owning them. So if you are anything like I were then you need to read this post! Okay so, I’ll be honest. GRLFRND jeans may be a bit a splurge. They are a major splurge for me! I honestly don’t spend over $60 on jeans. But, you honestly do get what you pay for when it come’s to jeans. So the question is… are these couple hundred dollar jeans worth it? Yes! If you’re looking to get many, many, many wears out of jeans then these are for you! If you’re looking for jeans that will hold their shape and are available in different styles and colours to flatter your legs. Then these babies are for you! Done deal. And I’ll be super transparent too. I was gifted these jeans from Revolve. And have always wanted to buy GRLFRND jeans but couldn’t honestly justify buying them before! But I will say I would definitely save my money…

My Must Have Winter Dress (under $50)

Dress (under $50!) | Jacket (similar here and here) | Boots | Purse So I found it! My must have Winter dress that is appropriate for the cold and the warm. For work, play and everything in-between! I literally found the perfect Winter dress. The fit is so good. The colour is flattering on so many skin tones. And the length isn’t too long or too short! Yes, I am totally obsessed! And you’re probably thinking “she is probably biased since she sells it at Shop Basic Babe“. I totally could be biased. But honestly, I’m not and this dress is just that good! I’m super picky when it comes to wearing a dress in the winter. I literally live in jeans and leather leggings, since finding a dress that can work with Winter is hard. And what I mean by works with Winter is this. Firstly, the dress needs to have long sleeves. Secondly, it can’t be too short. Cause when I don’t want to wear tights (I stroooongly dislike tights) I want to be able to throw own my over-the-knee boots and for there to be minimum skin. And thirdly, and lastly, it needs to be able to be worn to anything and everything! To work, date night, girls night etc. I even had a customer wear it to a baby shower! Check, check, check. And there ya go! My personal go-to dress for Winter for many valid reasons! Lol. What do you guys think? xo Lauren

Top 5 Cozy Cardigans

Cardigan (on sale!) | Jeans | Bodysuit | Purse I’m officially in hibernation season! January, in Toronto, typically is super snowy and extremely cold. Which means it’s time for me to get the house all cozy and my wardrobe cozy too! And if you live in a cold climate, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about, lol! It just takes so much energy to go outside when it’s freezing! After Qais and I finish shooting for the blog in the cold we’re ready to stuff our face with carbs. And to just flop on the couch, #truestory. I mean, the cold can go now! So ready for Spring. Ready for the warmth! And so ready for not freezing my butt off when shooting looks, lol! But until Spring slowly comes I’ll be cuddled in the cosiest cardigans. Including this navy blue distressed chenille number from Shop Basic Babe. It’s SO warm and super soft! It’s also on sale too for under $40!! Top 5 Cozy Cardigans: Boohoo Urban Outfitters Basic Babe Nordstrom Revolve xo Lauren

Top 5 Oversized Cardigans

Cardigan: Basic Babe |  Top: Basic Babe | Skirt: Basic Babe | Boots: Marc Fisher (sold out – similar) | Purse: Le Chateau | Hat: H&M The Christmas countdown is seriously on in the Sheriff home. I’m the type of person who doesn’t get excited about something until a couple days away! And I can now, safely say, I am SO excited for Christmas! All my Christmas shopping is done, so now I can look forward to time with the family and celebrating the reason for the season! I can’t wait!! 🙂 One essential in my closet, for Wintertime, is an oversized cardi. There are so many different types of oversized cardigans and I like to try and have them all, lol! The most classic oversized cardigan, that you probably know and love, is the soft and long cosy cardi. Which is a definite essential in chilly weather. I also love a sophisticated oversized cardi for meetings, work, etc. Something you can throw over your outfit, be comfortable but still look professional. That’s one of the reasons I love the Marissa cardi from Shop Basic Babe. I always love having a piece that can go from work to play. I think it’s so important to have pieces that look professional but can be worn casually too! That being said, here are my top 5 favourite oversized cardi’s of the season: Top 5 Oversized Cardigans: Basic Babe Revolve H&M Goodnight Macaroon Boohoo xo Lauren

Jacket: Basic Babe (under $50!) | Top: Basic Babe (only $39!) | Jeans: Zara | Boots: Marc Fisher (sold out – similar here) | Hat: H&M | Purse: Le Chateau  Can anyone else believe that there is only 1 week until Christmas!! I mean, December FLEW by! Usually, I’m done my Christmas shopping already. But I still have a few gifts and stocking stuffers to go!! So last minute this year. Here in Toronto, we’ve gotten quite a bit of snow for December. I’m not a snow kind-of-gal. But I love a white Christmas so I’m not complaining! I just hope it sticks or that we get a fresh coat of snow on Christmas eve! How magical would that be?! Something about white snow and blush pink get me all giddy inside, lol. I think it just looks so fresh. And most people this time of year stick to dark tones, which I like. But blush is just SO good this time of year! This faux fur jacket is from my store Shop Basic Babe. I am always looking for soft fur that feels warm and extra cosy to wear. And I have to say this jacket hits all the marks! I wore this outside with the Maya Puffy sleeve top and it was warm enough for me! I loved how it paired together, so chic! The jacket is under $50 and the top is only $39! Holiday + Winter Ready with Fashion Outlets Niagara Falls, USA

It’s that time of year again to start planning your Holiday shopping and to do’s! I am an avid early Christmas shopper and absolutely love the experience of going out to buy gifts. Getting into the Christmas spirit for me starts with shopping for my loved ones, and I LOVE to go into stores and shop! Since Qais and I headed down to the outlets of Niagara Falls, USA we decided to cross some Christmas shopping and Winter must have’s off our list. I mean, with up to 75% off designer and your favorite brands, you might as well knock most of your Christmas shopping off your list here! Where you need to shop at the Fashion Outlets Niagara Falls, USA Saks Off 5th My absolute favorite store in this outlet has to be Saks Off 5th! We actually do have a Saks Off 5th here in Canada. But we definitely DO NOT have these prices. I literally need to contain myself in this store because I could spend Qais’ whole pay cheque here, lol! If you are looking to do some serious damage, then this is your store. Firstly, let me just start off saying that I got a pair of Rag and Bone jeans here for $99. And these jeans regularly sold for $215! Crazy, I know. I also bought a pair of Dolce Vita platforms here in the Summer for only $16 – and they’re normally over $100 shoes. So if you’re looking for designer items, bags,…

Jacket: MM Vintage (save 10% off with coupon ‘Lauren10’) | Top: Express | Skirt: Romwe | Boots: ASOS (old – similar here) | Tights: H&M | Sunglasses: Ray Ban | Purse: BP (sold out – similar here) Living in a cold climate means you need to be well equipped with a few good pairs of jackets. I, for one, love to have a solid collection of jackets to rotate in my wardrobe depending on the temperature and where I’m going. One hot trend that has being lasting for a few years now is the military jacket. The military jacket is such a versatile piece and can easily be dressed up or down! When I saw this jacket from MM Vintage I just knew I had to have it. I completely fell in love with the meticulous attention to detail and how unique this jacket was. The sleeves are beautiful with the bold black embroidery and the gold sequins that really add a little sparkle, but not too much. And the hood is amazing! It’s big to hide good hair days from bad weather and will definitely keep you dry. Also, the faux leather detailing on the chest and on the pockets really add to the whole look! Overall, I have to say this military jacket is a total score. I’ve been literally wearing it everywhere non-stop and can definitely say the quality is right on point. If you are a fan of embroidered pieces you need to check out MM Vintage,…
