Top 5 White Shirt Dresses

Dress: Missguided | Shoes: Vince | Purse: Old Navy | Sunglasses: Aldo (similar) Happy Friday babes! This week has been so short but it’s felt really long at the same time! Qais and I have been getting are house ready to go on the market. Which means so much cleaning, so much organising and throwing out pretty much all of my winter clothes! Which is okay, since I told Qais I’ll just need a whole new wardrobe for Winter ;), lol! But, all in all, Qais and I are just so excited to move into a new condo. Something about moving feels like a fresh start and it’s just exciting entering into a new season of life!  So I’ve been really into white shirt dresses the summer! So much so, I already have another white shirt dress blog post here! Qais, though, isn’t so much of a fan of them. He always tells me I look like I’m in a nurses costume, lol! But I am totally in love with this white shirt dress from Missguided. You can wear this shirt dress with almost anything, and it always looks fab! It’s just such an easy piece to have in your closet, and I mean why not have a white shirt dress you can wear up or down, to work, or on date night! This shirt dress, in particular, is so soft to the touch it’s made of polyester but it’s really breathable and flowy! That being said, here are my current…

Currently Crushing On: Burnt Orange

Dress: Missguided (only $20!!) | Shoes: Aldo | Clutch: H&M | Sunglasses: Quay I’m not one for too much colour. I really like to keep things pretty basic and stick to neutrals. It’s not that I don’t like colour, I just sometimes get scared to wear it, lol! I have seriously shied away from colour most of my adult life. But, I am slowly warming up to colour and I am currently loving burnt orange right now! Okay, to be totally honest, I used to hate orange. Like absolutely despise it! I just thought it was an unflattering colour on me and never gave it a chance. With that being said, I took a major plunge and decided to try burnt orange with this dress! I have been looking for a dress like this since I saw the dRa Los Angeles one here. I’ve been dying to get my hands on that one but didn’t want to spend the money. Although, I love dRa and think I’m going to invest in a few pieces in the near future! Anyways, I saw this dress on Missguided and wanted it so bad I decided to just do the orange. When it first came in the mail I was a little scared and wasn’t sure if I would wear it out or even post it on the blog! I tried it on and Qais actually liked it, which made me feel better about it! The day I actually shot the dress and did my…

Top 5 Rompers for Summer

Romper: Missguided (50% off with code: americanbabe) | Shoes: Aldo (under $100!) | Clutch: H&M | Sunglasses: Quay Summer so far has been strange, weather wise! I love a hot Summer and so far are weather here in Toronto has been really up and down. Plus, we’ve had a ton of rain which sucks obviously! I haven’t had much of a chance to rock rompers this season, but a few days ago it was warm enough for this cute number! Rompers really are the best for scorching hot days! I love rompers that are ultra lightweight and have a nice soft material. I also like full bum coverage (because who want’s their derriere hanging out?!). It’s always hit or miss with me when it comes to rompers. Some just hit me in a weird spot, others are too short and some are itchy and uncomfortable. So finding the perfect Summer romper is a bit of a struggle, in my opinion! But when you find it you really do hit gold! My romper is from Missguided and basically, hits all my must have in a romper list. It is so so so so soft! Like super soft. It’s lightweight and is the perfect length. I love the tropical print and the ruffle sleeves are the cutest! Qais says this is one of his fave pieces in my closet too! Even better it’s only $40 and it’s 40% off (along with everything else on Missguided’s website) with code ‘americanbabe‘! Top 5 Rompers for…

The Most Versatile LBD!

Dress: Missguided (50% off using code ‘gobabe’) | Shoes: Steve Madden (under $100) | Purse: Aldo | Sunglasses: Quay Up until recently my entire wardrobe consisted of 80% black. Truthfully, I was scared to wear colour and thought black was the easiest way to go. My wardrobe literally was black, white and grey! When I decided I wanted to start blogging I also decided I wanted to evolve my fashion too. I wanted to incorporate more colours, textures and patterns. And I wanted to try new styles I shied away from before! One style I always steered clear from was pleats. Why? I honestly don’t know, lol. I just never liked pleats and never wore them! So when I was browsing the Missguided website one day I came across this LBD with pleats. I was initially drawn to it because of the bell sleeves (I’m a huge fan of bell sleeves). So I purchased it and when it got delivered I HATED it! I was so so close to returning it but never got around to it. Looks like this procrastination worked in my favor because I decided to give it one last try…. and I LOVED it! Honestly, I don’t know why I disliked it so much when I first tried it on. But since actually giving it a try I have to say it’s probably one of the most versatile little black dresses I own. You can pair it with a heel and it looks good enough for a party or date night. And in the Summer you can put…

Today’s post is all about the one thing that every single girl has in her closet. That thing is denim! Incase you’ve been living under a rock for the past few seasons, denim has been a major trend! From denim on denim, distressed denim, 90’s inspired denim and denim accessories. Pretty much everything has been made in denim! And I have to say I’m pretty happy about this denim trend. I am a HUGE fan of denim skirts. Basically I used to live in denim skirts all throughout high school until they were #solastyear. Do you remember how everyone used to wear Abercrombie and Hollister denim skirts with a polo (that was me and I thought I was so cool lol). Anyways, when I saw this distressed denim skirt from Missguided I was sooooo excited! Firstly, it’s white and white denim and me are two peas in a pod. And secondly, it was distressed and the perfect pencil skirt length. It truly was love at first sight. I couldn’t stop thinking of all the ways I could style this cute little number all Spring and Summer long. So when the temperatures hit 15 degrees Celsius this past Sunday I knew exactly what I was wearing! I just love the versatility of denim skirts and so many of them are waaaaay…

Skirt: Missguided (on sale!) | Top: Seven Sisters (similar here) | Boots: Coconuts by Matisse | Purse: Aldo (old – love this one) | Sunglasses: Forever 21 | Watch: Rosefield Lately, I’ve been really into suede everything. From suede booties to moto jackets and even little suede skirts. I just feel like suede is such a cold weather item and adds so much texture and warmth to a look! This little purple suede skirt has been everything since I received it a few weeks ago! When searching for a new skirt I mainly focus on a few things. First, I want a skirt that is going to fit and flatter me perfectly. Second, I look for detailing to add some character. And lastly, I look at price and wearability (I want to get maximum wear out of it!). So when I was browsing Missguided’s sale page and saw this number I just knew it was meant to be! And can we talk about the detail in this skirt? I can’t get over the gold zipper and the front slit! These details really add so much character and make this skirt a unique piece to own. I also love how flattering this skirt is. It’s naturally built with a little shape which gives me the hips I don’t have! I paired it with my most fave bodysuit (literally wear this with everything) and my new Coconut by Matisse booties that I snagged from Nordstrom rack. Off topic from the post but…

Style Steal: Under $60 Winter Coat

Coat: Missguided | Top: H&M (on sale!) | Denim: Zara (similar here) | Purse: BP (sold out – similar here) | Boots: Forever 21 | Sunglasses: Gild and Lily (similar here) | Watch: Rosefield (similar here) It’s Monday! And to start the week off right I decided to share a MAJOR style steal! Like, really major. So if you live in a cold climate and are looking to score a new jacket that is warm and stylish, then I gotchu’ with this under $60 winter coat. So first off, I have been on the longest search looking for a longline coat or a trench coat. Ideally I wanted a camel jacket or a light grey one. And obviously I didn’t want to spend too much (I was really looking for under $100). Realistically, jackets are one of those items that you should probably splurge on. They are an investment that needs to fit correctly and to be warm, obvious right? I tried on so many jackets from Forever 21 that were between $50 to $60 dollars but they honestly had the worst fit. Now don’t get me wrong. I love this jacket from Forever 21 here. But let’s be real, Forever 21 can be a hit or miss when it comes to fit! So, after much online searching and many abandoned carts I finally found the one! And can we just talk about the price on this jacket? It’s only $54.00 (reduced from $108.00). How amazing is that! And after actually…
