You Need Knits in Your Wardrobe this Summer! Here's Why...

Top: H&M (under $30 and multiple colours!) | Shorts: H&M (on the small side size up!) | Purse: H&M | Sunglasses: Shades Crush c/o | Shoes: Aldo

Since I’ve started blogging two things have happened. First, I’ve started trying so many styles and even colours I was way too scared to try before. And secondly, I’ve been on the lookout for good basics more then ever now. Before blogging my basics consisted of white and black tees. That’s it. I never really thought basics could be anything more!

With that being said I’ve been looking for some basics that I could wear to work, for date night and with a pair of jeans. Something that could go with everything but still looked a little more polished then a white tee. I started seeing a lot of knits in the blogosphere with skirts, denim, and even knit dresses and thought that maybe I should add some knits into my wardrobe. I kinda went a little knit crazy and bought a few tanks at H&M lol!

Obviously, I am obsessed with them now and wanted to share why:

  1. Firstly, knits are so so comfy and knits made for Summer are so lightweight and breathable. I love how soft this H&M knit is against my skin. Even in the humidity it doesn’t stick to my skin and allows some airflow in so I’m not left being sweaty and gross!
  2. They are literally so versatile. I’ve worn this single top three times already this week. I’ve worn it taking my dogs to the vet in jeans and sandals. And to work and date night with a skirt and pair of heels! Knits are just one of those things that can be easily dressed up or down (which I love!).
  3.  I love how this top, in particular, has the ruffle sleeves and the racerback! It just adds a little somethinsomethin‘ to the look! Is it weird to say I love the detail knits bring to an outfit? I just feel like a basic tee can be just kinda blah. But don’t get me wrong I love a good white tee. I just think I nice knit can really add some interest to any outfit super easily!
  4.  And lastly, because knits are always in. I for one hate going through my closet at the end of every season and sorting through what to keep and what to sell. Sometimes it’s just nice to have a classic piece that will take you through different seasons and years! The knit top is a definite keeper from season-to-season and is a definite item you can splurge on!
