Happy Friday! This week has been a whirlwind since I got back from NYC! It’s just been busy, busy, busy trying to catch up with work, life and of course the blog. Does anyone else come home from NYC 5 pounds heavier? Lol! I seriously can’t contain my appetite when I’m there! The food is just too good and I always tend to overeat and pay for it when I return home! Also, my wallet is always a lot lighter when I return home if you know what I mean, lol!!

Talking about lighter wallets, I love a good jacket, but also love having a selection of jackets. That being said though, I do always splurge on my winter jacket (cause this girl can’t take the cold), but always like to have a few “fashion” jackets on hand. One of those jackets would be a moto jacket! I love a black moto jacket. They go with everything and can really turn any simple outfit into an edgy and trendy one! As much as I love the classic moto I am not always a huge fan of the price. I honestly don’t have the budget to spend $500+ on a nice leather moto jacket. As much as I’d LOVE to, I just can’t! So, I’ve learned a few tips over the years on how to shop on a lower budget for jackets! So here they are:

3 Easy Tips on How To Shop Lower Priced Jackets (that look expensive!):

1. Look for texture or a lot of detail

My first go-to trick when shopping for a lower priced moto jacket is the texture and detail. The faux buffalo leather makes the jacket appear more expensive than it is! It also makes it feel more expensive, too! I also always look for a lot of detail. Whether that’s a lot of hardware, pockets, or texture on the elbows or shoulders. I find detailing always makes it look like it cost way more than what you paid!

2. Check the hardware colour

Honestly, avoid gold hardware at all costs! When you are buying a lower priced point moto jacket, gold hardware can come off as cheap. Plus, when they get scratched they show the silver underneath. Always, always, always buy a jacket with silver hardware! The only time I get gold hardware on any clothing item is if I spent more $$$ on it! Otherwise, I always stick with silver!

3. Try it on or read the reviews

The thing about lower priced point jackets, specifically moto jackets, is that the fit can be really weird. I used to own a moto jacket that just flared out at the bottom and it would drive me insane! I love a well-fitted moto jacket that is close to the body. If you can’t try it on, then read the reviews! My moto jacket is from Shein and I took a quick read of most of the reviews. The verdict was that it was good and that it fit well! I then read the measurements, measured myself and bought a medium. And its’ definitely a perfect fit!
