5 Must Have Jeans for Spring

Top c/o | Jeans c/o | Shoes c/o | Purse Happy Wednesday! Guys, I don’t know what it is, but this year I’ve been really into jeans. Maybe it’s because I’ve had the opportunity to wear really amazing jeans lately. And because of that, I’ve fallen in love with jeans! I’ve never been one to ever spend on jeans. I always kept my jean budget $50 and under and was convinced I could find a great pair of jeans at that price. And honestly, I found a few pairs here and there that were great. But overall, jeans are something you should invest in. Especially if you’re planning on wearing them over and over again! Nothing is better than a good pair of well-fitting jeans that can last through many washes and multiple wears! So that being said, here are my top 5 must-have jeans for Spring! And trust me these are worth the splurge! 5 Must Have Jeans for Spring: GRLFRND DENIM (these babies are my most worn, best fitting and the jean I would recommend most) BDG JEANS (under $100 and great quality!) 7 Must Have Mules for Spring

Top | Jeans | Shoes (similar here & here) | Purse Happy Wednesday and happy second day of Spring! Anyone else SO happy that Winter is finally over?! I mean I am so ecstatic and can’t wait for the weather here in Toronto to get the message. I mean it’s Spring now, so this cold weather can get the heck out of here! One thing I love about the warm weather is showing some skin… on the feet lol! I love, love, love sandals and I’ve also really been into mules lately too. Mules are everywhere and in every store. Which means you need to get a pair of mules and I need to add some more to my shoe collection. Cause a girl can never have too many shoes (am-i-rite?!). So that being said. Here are my 7 MUST have mules for Spring! 7 Must Have Mules for Spring: Steve Madden Raye Aldo (my fave from last year) Nordstrom Sam Edelman Sole Society Vince Camuto xo Lauren

Celebrating 10 Years: How We Met

A couple of Saturday’s back, Qais and I celebrated 10 years together! If you ask either one of us, it’s honestly felt like five minutes. It’s crazy how fast time goes by and I for one wish it would just slow down a little bit! I’ve been getting a lot of requests for doing a post about how Qais and I met. So here it is! How Qais and I met 10 years ago… (I’m going to keep it as short and sweet as possible) So Qais and I met back in highschool. We were both 16 and I had just transferred to his high school to attend school with my best friend! I knew a lot of other students at Qais’ high school since I went to elementary school with them. But I moved out of the district and had to attend another school in the same town. The weird thing is Qais and I always went to the same parties prior to me transferring to his school. But we oddly never met. We had SO many mutual friends too, but still never crossed paths. It was literally fate the way we met, lol! So it was a snow day at school and usually, I don’t go to school on snow days, but this day I decided to go! My best friend and I were trying to find a seat in the cafeteria but managed to embarrass ourselves and left the cafeteria laughing so hard we were crying, I…

Top 5 Ruffle Pieces you Need for Spring!

Top | Jeans | Shoes (similar) | Purse I don’t know if it’s the time change (and more, much needed, sun) but I’ve been SO excited for Spring! This March in Toronto has been pretty good with barely any snow and above 0 degree celsius days! I’m so ready to bust out lighter pieces and brighter colours for Spring! One trend I always love for Spring is ruffles. Ruffles are so classic and feminine and embody warm weather in my opinion. I’m so excited to add ruffle skirts and tanks to my warm weather wardrobe. But for now, I’ve been adding light knits and long sleeve top ruffles everywhere I possibly can! This ruffle top from Shop Basic Babe is seriously soft and great way to transition from the Winter cold to cooler Spring days. I personally love it tucked into a pair of distressed straight leg jeans. This combo has become my uniform as of late! So I’m celebrating these warmer and longer days with my top 5 ruffle pieces you need in your closet in Spring! Trend to Try: Velvet for Spring

Dress | Shoes (similar) | Purse Velvet is a trend I haven’t been able to get enough of! I’m not usually a velvet kind of gal. But this season, I swear velvet styles have been SO good! I’ve purchased so many velvet dresses for weddings and for holidays. And I’m planning to continue to wear as much velvet as possible until temps truly warm up! If you haven’t tried velvet yet you are totally missing out! This past season velvet has been one of the hottest fabrics. And you can basically find any style in velvet. No matter what your personal style is, I guarantee there is a velvet piece out there for you! If you are a little hesitant with velvet, try a dress. A guest of wedding dress in a beautiful plush velvet fabric is beyond gorgeous. And so classy, in my opinion! I wore this velvet number to a wedding in November. And I am totally feeling wearing this velvet dress for another wedding I’m going to at the end of the month! All you need is a good nude heel and you are good to go! Any velvet pieces your loving lately? xo Lauren

I told Qais we should move to NYC for a year then to LA where we actually want to end up lol. It was such a quick trip in and out of NYC. I was there buying for Shop Basic Babe. But for some reason, it took me 2 days to recover and to finally feel energized. It’s so weird how much travelling takes out of you! Although, I picked up some REALLY cute items for Shop Basic Babe. So I can’t wait to show you guys those pieces!! Anyways, I am SO into wide leg pants lately. I only own one pair, but I’m making it my mission to add much more for Spring. It was 14 degrees Celcius a couple days ago in Toronto. So I threw on this blouse and these white wide leg trousers for the ultimate Spring transition look! Bodysuit | Jeans | Boots (similar) | Clutch Happy Monday, from New York City! I’m here for a quick trip for some Shop Basic Babe buying for Spring/Summer 2018. New York City always leaves me inspired and motivated to get back to the grind and to continue chasing my dreams! Who else loves NYC as much as I do?! Who else also loves this bodysuit trend and hope’s it stays forever?! I’ve always been the type to tuck in all my shirts and blouses. So this bodysuit thang can definitely stay. It just makes looking put together SO much easier! I am also loving the deep v, stripes and bell sleeves on this bodysuit. This top is seriously my cup of tea and I love how ridiculously easy it is to style! Also, if you haven’t hoped on the straight leg jean trend yet, why not?! They are totally fab and really make a look. It’s all about finding the right fit for your body though. These GRLFRND jeans are truly the perfect straight leg jean.
