3 Classics You Need for Spring

Top | Trousers (similar) | Belt | Bag (similar) | Shoes Hey, lovelies! Things over here have been busy and a bit disorienting lately! You know when you travel and come back and take a million years to catch up on life. Well, that’s me right now! My blog posts are disorganized. And my plan for creating content is basically non-existent. But, I promise to get back on track soon! Anyways, Toronto has *finally* warmed up! After, what felt like, an incredibly long Winter. So, I’ve been slowly starting to shop for all things Spring. As a self-proclaimed basic babe, I love adding staples and classics to my wardrobe. You can never have too many classics and you can never wear classics too much. So, here are my go-to classics for Spring: 3 Classics You Need for Spring: Stripes Show me someone who doesn’t think stripes are a classic! I mean really, no matter your age or style, stripes are ALWAYS a good idea! I personally love making my stripes sophisticated, if you will, by wearing them with crisp white trousers or a crisp white jean skirt. It just freshens up the classic stripes and adds a trendy flare! I love black and white stripes personally but navy and white are great for transitioning into the Summer with. Either way, adding a few stripes to your wardrobe is definitely a good idea! Lightweight Trousers A pair of lightweight trousers for Spring is everythaaang! Trousers aren’t just for the office. They’re…

Currently Crushing On: Tularosa Label

Cardigan | Skirt | Bodysuit | Boots | Choker | Necklace | Purse | Sunglasses Happy Monday loves! I’ve recently fallen in love with a brand and I can’t get enough! It’s been a long while since I’ve found a label that I’ve fallen head over heels for. But, that dry spell is done and I have been CRUSHING on Tularosa. If you’ve never heard of Tularosa before, you can thank me later, lol! Tularosa is a vintage-inspired collection with a lot of textures, embroidery and just really well-made pieces. Their sweaters are fantastic and are SO warm and cozy. This pink cardi has been a style staple of mine all Winter long. I’ve worn it with jeans, shorts, dresses and travelling. And even though all it’s wear, it’s hasn’t pilled or had any signs of heavy use! The skirt I’m wearing is also Tularosa and is SO good! I haven’t been into really girly and fun pieces for a while. But when I saw this skirt I knew I needed it for Spring/Summer. It just reminds me of palm trees and warm weather. Which are two things Toronto definitely doesn’t have, lol! If you love quality pieces, that are fun, well made and staples for your closet. Check out Tularosa HERE. SO many good pieces you’ll love. I pinky promise! Thanks to Revolve for collaborating with me on this post! xo Lauren

Top 5 Statement Boots

Dress | Top (60% off) | Boots c/o | Purse I donut know what I would do without a cute pair of booties! But seriously, I don’t. I am a bootie girl through and through. And I honestly usually only gravitate towards solid colour boots. Like black and white. BUT, these silver mesh booties are seriously major and a definite must-have for Spring! Usually, when Spring rolls around I try to wear only sandals. This year though, booties with mini dresses are my thang! And hellooooo statement booties! I’m planning on adding a bunch of show-stopper booties in my Spring wardrobe. These beauties are by Raye from Revolve. I actually got them for Revolve Festival and didn’t realize how much wear I’d get out of them after! I’ve seriously worn these babies non-stop and with everything! I love how good they look with a pair of cropped jeans too! So let’s get on with it, shall we? Here are my top 5 statement boots… Top 5 Statement Boots: Raye Asos Kristin Cavallari Marc Fisher  Steve Madden xo Lauren

Denim for Spring with Marshalls

Top (50% off with code: savebabesave) | Jeans (similar) | Shoes c/o | Purse Happy Wednesday! I took a mini break from blogging and shooting new content over the Easter weekend so I could really enjoy time with family. Now I’m back and ready to talk everything fashion and bring you guys new looks. I’ve been talking a lot about denim recently. Specifically, my new found love for jeans! I recently wrote a blog post about my 5 must have jeans for Spring here. But little did I know, one of my fave retailers would be slaying the jean game! K, so guys, I recently took a trip to Marshalls and went straight to their contemporary section (my fave). And let me just say, their designer denim game is strong and SO cheap! I mean I got these jeans for $59 and they are regularly $118. Then, I snagged a pair of One Teaspoon jeans for… wait for it… $39! Those babies I’m wearing right here. I mean, damn, how are these beautiful designer jeans SO cheap and affordable. No idea, but I’ll take it, Marshalls, I’ll take it. So basically, this post is like an extension of last jean blog post. Because, if you are in the market for a killer pair of quality jeans for seriously the quarter of the price. Then, honey, you need to go to Marshall’s contemporary section NOW! You can thank me later. 😉 xo Lauren Thanks to Marshalls for collaborating with me on this…

7 Ways to Conquer Comparison on Social Media

Happy Good Friday! Today, I’m changing it up on the blog and wanted to talk about the comparison game. It’s something I think every single girl has struggled with, including me. In the age of social media, Pinterest perfect homes, perfect little squares on Instagram showing everybody’s picture-perfect life, family, body, etc. it’s easy to get caught up and think that there is something wrong with you and your life. The funny thing is, when you compare yourself to what you see on social media you are comparing yourself to a false reality. I mean EVERYTHING on social media is curated, styled, edited to perfection. To an unrealistic perfection that is anything but real and most of the time, it’s also unauthentic too, #truth. As a fashion blogger myself, I now know (most) of the tips and tricks for a flawless photo. How to work my angles. How to pose in-front of the camera. How to style my house. What parts of my house that are “Insta-worthy”. And truthfully, the list goes on and on. Now that’s my job to curate content, style myself, style photo shoots and to produce quality images, especially when I’m collaborating with brands. But at the same time, it’s important for me to understand my job as a blogger is to blog about fashion and to ultimately make things look pretty. And that my real life is messy, unpredictable, FAR from perfect and not a curated app full of pretty images. Which is why separating…
