Currently Crushing On: Blush Faux Fur Jacket

Jacket: Basic Babe (under $50!) | Top: Basic Babe (only $39!) | Jeans: Zara | Boots: Marc Fisher (sold out – similar here) | Hat: H&M | Purse: Le Chateau  Can anyone else believe that there is only 1 week until Christmas!! I mean, December FLEW by! Usually, I’m done my Christmas shopping already. But I still have a few gifts and stocking stuffers to go!! So last minute this year. Here in Toronto, we’ve gotten quite a bit of snow for December. I’m not a snow kind-of-gal. But I love a white Christmas so I’m not complaining! I just hope it sticks or that we get a fresh coat of snow on Christmas eve! How magical would that be?! Something about white snow and blush pink get me all giddy inside, lol. I think it just looks so fresh. And most people this time of year stick to dark tones, which I like. But blush is just SO good this time of year! This faux fur jacket is from my store Shop Basic Babe. I am always looking for soft fur that feels warm and extra cosy to wear. And I have to say this jacket hits all the marks! I wore this outside with the Maya Puffy sleeve top and it was warm enough for me! I loved how it paired together, so chic! The jacket is under $50 and the top is only $39! Do you guys like wearing blush in the Winter? Let me know in the…

I didn’t think I’d love the length on me but I am SO into it! I can’t wait to wear it to Christmas eve service at my church. Trending: Plaid Everything

Top: Basic Babe | Skirt: Basic Babe | Boots: Forever 21 (not online – similar here) | Purse: Le Chateau So if you want to know one trend you need to buy this Fall and Winter season. I would say plaid ANYTHING. Hands down. Easy! Plaid has been literally everywhere, in every store and on basically everybody! Don’t think you can pull off plaid? Well, you’re definitely wrong! Plaid is one of those prints that suit everybody! Doesn’t matter your colour, size or style. Plaid is the choice! As you can tell I love plaid, lol. But I didn’t fall back into plaid until recently! You guys, you know I’m into effortless and easy pieces. And plaid is seriously the easiest way to look pulled together and trendy in one easy step! And you don’t have to get a plaid skirt. Plaid blazers and pants are also super hot right now too! My recommendation would be to try the skirt if you’re unsure about how to pull off a plaid pant. Skirts are much easier and can look styled more simply then the plaid pant! But, that’s just my opinion! And don’t be surprised if you see me in a plaid blazer soon cause that will probably happen shortly. Okay, I need to end the blog post here cause I just typed plaid 13 times, it’s late in my defence lol! PS.. both pieces are from Shop Basic Babe and they’re both under $50! Linked above!  xo Lauren

HUGE Life Update!

Guys, I am beyond excited to announce the launch of my very own online store Basic Babe! I’ve been working on this project SO hard for the past couple of months. So to see it come to life is beyond amazing. Basic Babe is seriously my passion and I can’t believe I get to have my own online store that embodies my style and belief! Shop Basic Babe is for the woman looking for affordable, effortless and versatile pieces (cause you guy’s know that’s my thang)! My vision for Shop Basic Babe is a store that is an extension of a woman’s worth because I don’t believe your clothes define who you are. But are an extension of who you are! I just wanted to have an online shop that would be practical and effortless for women. So many online shops sell clothes that are so low cut, tight and just not practical in my opinion, lol! So enough with my rambling and here are my favourite pieces from the shop! And we ship WORLDWIDE too! (also scroll to the bottom of a discount code) Ella Velvet Dress – $44 Knotted Front Skirt – $40 Bubble Sleeve Sweater Dress – $34 Cara Maxi Dress -$45 Double Layer Suede Skirt – $45 Plaid Asymmetric Skirt – $46 / Ruffle Detail Blouse – $44 Heather Grey Oversized Cardi – $40 Amber OTS Flutter Sleeve Bodysuit – $49 Time To Wine Down Pullover – $69 These are just a few of my faves! Faux Fur + High Waisted Jeans

Jacket: H&M | Top: Zara (similar) | Jeans: Zara | Boots: Aldo (similar) | Purse: Aldo Happy hump day, babes!! If you haven’t already noticed, I am loving all things faux fur! Would I say it’s an obsession? Um, yes, definitely! I honestly can’t get enough faux fur in the winter for its style and warmth. And trust me, this particular jacket is WARM! I’ve been wearing so much faux fur lately it’s not even funny! I just wrote a blog post, last week I think, rounding up my top 5 faux furs. So if you’re as crazy as I am about this furry goodness then click here to read! There are just so many good pieces of faux fur this season it’s hard to choose. So why not buy a few? Lol! Another obsession of mine has been Zara’s high waisted jeans. They are SO good! I don’t like to spend an arm and a leg buying jeans. So Zara is usually my go-to for jeans under $50! But, this season, in particular, their high waisted jean game has been on point! These pair above are my third pair of high waisted jeans from Zara and I just can’t get enough! So if you’re looking for a flattering pair, that won’t break your budget and that is available in different washes. Also, my surprise will be revealed this week! EEEK…! xo Lauren

Designer Selling Made Fast and Easy with Mcouture

If you guys have been following me for a while you know I’m not huge into buying designer. But, every once in a while I like to splurge a little on a few items I love. Recently, I purchased these Rag and Bone jeans that I absolutely loved for Summer. They are the perfect lightweight, soft and stretchy denim every girl looks for when shopping for jeans! But, eventually, like any girl who loves fashion and trends, I must part with a favourite piece to make room for a new one! Since I don’t buy many designers I had no idea where to sell designer pieces. But I know making a little extra by selling these jeans on a reputable consignment shop is definitely the best way to go! I’m not one for physically going to a consignment shop to sell my clothes. Luckily, Mcouture is a Canadian online consignment shop that knows how to sell your designer pieces easy and fast!   My favourite part of MCouture is the stress it takes out of selling your preloved designer goods. Your commission is shown upfront after uploading your item and then MCouture takes it from there. So easy and fast! What I love about MCouture is you can keep your wardrobe fresh with long-lasting pieces for half or a fraction of the actual price! I mean who doesn’t love saving on quality made items anyways?! And these Rag and Bone jeans above are actually for sale right now on Mcouture’s…

Overalls & Bell Sleeves (plus, a mini blog update!)

Dress: Zara | Top: Missguided | Shoes: Aldo (sold out – love these here and here) | Purse: H&M (not online – similar here) | Sunglasses: Shades Crush Okay, I never thought I would ever wear overalls again past 5th grade! And here I am loving this overall/dungaree dress trend hard. It’s such cute and easy trend that is seriously so fun to wear! I would have never thought wearing overalls would ever be considered stylish, but here we are, lol! I recently wore another overall dress here last week from Zara. Zara is just KILLING the dress game this season I swear! So basically I am an officially an overall girl and I think I like it lol! Also, there will be SO many good updates and blog posts here on BB over the next few weeks. If you follow me on IG you probably know how much I’ve been talking about my BIG SUPRISE. That should be announced next week! AND, I didn’t forget the second part of “How I Gained 20,000 REAL Followers in 6 Months“. That’ll be coming soon and if you missed the first part, definitely check it out here! I also want to apologize in advance for my super short blog posts! Because of my big announcement I’ve been crazy busy and haven’t had time to really sit and write a blog post! But I promise that announcement is exciting!! 🙂 xo Lauren

The Must Try Fall Trend for Every Girl!

Top: Forever 21 (similar) | Jeans: Zara | Boots: Aldo (similar)| Purse: Forever 21 (similar) One of my favourite parts of being a fashion blogger is trying all the trends and making them my own! I’ve said this already this season, but daaaang the trends for Fall are GOOD! Sometimes trends are just so out there and not practical for every woman. But, this Fall so many trends are practical and fashionable. Which I just love! If you there is one trend you need to follow this Fall and Winter that trend is the sock booties and the belt! I mean, giiiirl, I love a thick black belt with gold hardware and a pair of jeans. It literally looks so effortlessly stylish. And it’s obviously so practical! If you have a little more dough to spend then me. Then you need to get this gorgeous Gucci logo belt here. I am looking forward to the day I can purchase this baby. But for now, this H&M belt does the trick! And if you are looking for another trend to try out this Fall. Then sock booties paired with cropped jeans is just sooo good! Like SO good! The belt I’m wearing above is under $10 (such a steal it’s so nice!) and these booties aren’t on the Aldo website so I’ve linked some other faves below. xo Lauren
