So, the biggest day of you and your fiance’s life is fast approaching – your wedding day! The most magical experience filled with unforgettable memories, it’s unlike anything that either of you would’ve experienced before. But as the date is getting closer, you’ll want to create a checklist of all the things that you need to do before you say ‘I do’.
And although the two of you will, of course, have a checklist that includes everything that you will have to arrange (e.g. the venue, the cake, etc.), if you’re the bride, there are certain things you’ll need to think about that your man doesn’t (lucky him).
Whether you’ve dreamt about the day since you were a little girl or it’s something that you’ve only started to imagine after you met your partner, there are things that you’ll want to do to ensure that the day is as perfect as possible.
To help make this process easier, here is a checklist of things that you might want to consider:
Buy Your Dress and Shoes
This might sound like an obvious one, but it’s still worth mentioning. Around 8-10 months before your wedding day, you should start to look at dresses. When you know the style that you like, then find your favourite bridal stores and start trying dresses on!
Your dress viewing will be a magical day, spent with trying on a variety of different dresses with your loved ones by your side. On the same day, you can also try on and purchase your wedding shoes. With your shoes, you’ll of course want to find a style that’s stylish and matches your dress. But you’ll also want to find ones that are comfortable as you’ll have to wear them for most of the day.
Purchase Hair Accessories
Once you’ve picked your dress and shoes, it’s time to think about hair accessories. Consider whether you want to wear a veil, or opt for a hairpiece instead. The accessory that you choose will depend on your personal preference and your budget. I personally pinned my favourite hairstyles on Pinterest since their is endless inspiration there!
When you’ve figured out what hairstyles you like and accessories you want, make sure to bring it along on the day to your hair and makeup trial (if you’re having one). This way the stylist will be able to incorporate it into your hair more easily.
Book a Manicure
Many brides opt to book a manicure for their wedding. Whether this is done a day or two before, it will leave your nails looking fabulous for the wedding close-up photos that you’re bound to have on the day. I’d say opt for shellac for a long lasting manicure.
Arrange Your Hair and Makeup
Following on from the above, you might want to book a professional hair and makeup artist for your wedding. Often, they will either come to your home or to the venue that you’re getting married in and spend a few hours helping you to get ready. Taking the pressure off of you, you can sit back and relax while you’re having it done.
Of course, not all brides choose to have this. Whether it’s a budget thing or a personal preference, many opt to do their hair and makeup themselves. If this is the case, there are plenty of high-quality face makeup brands out there for you to choose from.
Get a Bridal Dressing Gown and Slippers
A very popular choice of modern brides is to purchase bridal dressing gowns and slippers for the morning of their wedding. Perfect for keeping cozy when you’re getting ready and they look cute in photos!
