My 5 Most Worn Pieces for Winter (you might wanna snag these!)

Jacket (c/o) | Top | Cardigan | Jeans (on sale!) | Belt | Boots (similar) | Purse (on sale!) | Beanie (similar) Fashion bloggers are notoriously known for wearing clothes once and then frivolously replacing them with something new! While being a Fashion Blogger does entail a new wardrobe quite often. The truth is most bloggers #offduty most do tend to repeat on the regular. Well, I can’t speak for every fashion blogger, but I re-wear multiple pieces and outfits multiple times throughout the week! To be honest, even when I’m gifted an item I make sure it’s something practical for me and versatile enough to wear over and over. I don’t see any point in having pieces you wear once and then give away. And trust me, when I first starting blogging I had LOTS of those pieces. It bothered me how little I wore them. So, this season in particular, I decided to invest and choose pieces I knew I’d wear non-stop! So that being said, here are my top 5 worn pieces from this Winter season! My 5 Most Worn Pieces for Winter: Tularosa Coat (c/o) Aldo Sock Booties H&M Belt Aldo Satchel Purse (on sale!) H&M Vintage Jeans (on sale!) xo Lauren

Currently Crushing On: Florals and Faux Fur

Jacket | Dress | Boots | Purse As you guys probably already know, I love faux fur and I love florals! It’s just one of my go-to pieces that I swear by. So I recently decided to combine my two faves with a pretty cute Winter outfit, if I do say so myself! And not only is this the faux fur jacket of my dreams because of the size and colour. But it is really SO warm! Perfect for bitter cold days. The dress I’m wearing is from Shein and it’s kind of like a faux wrap dress if you will! It actually just buttons on the side instead of actually wrapping. Which I really liked. It is a little low cut, so keep that in mind if you want to buy it! You can’t see it above because of my jacket, but it has kind of like mini bell sleeves. Which is super chic! If you don’t think this outfit was warm for what the weather looks like outside. You’re probably right, lol! I shot this look a couple of days after coming back from the cottage, but keep in mind the temperature at the cottage was -37 degree’s Celsius (which is -34.6 Fahrenheit)! The day I shot this look it was -7, so needless to say, -7 felt warm even in this! When you’re Canadian you take what you can get lol!   xo Lauren Thanks to Shein for collaborating with me on this post!

How To Accessorize Minimally in 3 Easy Steps!

Dress: Marshalls | Shoes: Sam Edelman | Purse: H&M | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Choker: Mejuri  As you guys probably know, I am not huge into accessories and being blinged out, lol! I prefer keeping things minimal (hint the name Basic Babe) and classic. I’ve always had a bit of a love hate relationship with accessorizing because it feels like a must to finish off an outfit. But, at the same time, I don’t like wearing too much jewellery! For awhile I jumped on the band wagon of always wearing a watch, a statement necklace (are they still in?!), and sometimes earrings to complete my look. One of my favourite style icons, Lauren Conrad, definitely gave me some major inspo on this as she is pretty minimalistic when it comes to accessorizing herself! And as my style evolved I decided to take a whole new approach to the accessorizing part of my closet and try an LC. Which ultimately was keeping my jewellery simple and using other parts of my outfit to speak up! That being said, here are my 3 go-to steps to accessorizing my outfit minimally! How To Accessorize Minimally in 3 Easy Steps: 1. Get a purse with its own accessories! Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen that Chloe bag with the gold bracelet attached to it. And for those who haven’t here, it is here! It literally is to die for! Now, my budget sadly doesn’t allow for a beautiful purse like this. But…

Summer Must: A Classic White Button-Up Shirt

Shirt: H&M | Skirt: H&M | Purse: H&M | Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Okay, I once again have a new obsession with something! And that something is the classic white button up shirt. I am so behind in the fashion world (clearly) and have never tried this chic and effortless top. I know what you’re probably thinking. “This girl gets a new obsession like every 5 minutes” lol. Which in all honesty is true! BUT, in my defence, this obsession is a timeless piece that I am SO happy I found! I actually just stumbled upon this shirt while shopping for something completely different at H&M (that always happens, am I right?!). I had a jean skirt in my hands already and I thought to myself, this would be such a simple but cute outfit! What I really loved about the shirt was how light weight and soft it was! And what really made me take the plunge was that it was $14.99. Such a good price! Basically, the moral of this story is. You NEED a classic white button up shirt in your life. I’ve already worn it with so many pieces, but my favourite has got to be this look! It’s truly such a timeless piece that is flattering on every woman, and it really is the definition of an effortless look. That being said, I think I’m gonna stock up on more. Don’t tell Qais, lol!!   xo Lauren
