4 Editing Apps to Create Insta-Worthy Photos

1. Lightroom First things first. Every well-edited picture starts with a well-trusted app used by photographers and bloggers alike. Lightroom is the best place to start whether you snapped your picture with your DSLR or your phone. Not only can you use Lightroom to make corrections and adjustments to your picture. But, you can create your own presets (basically filters) and add other premade presets to use on your picture. My favorite presets are VSCO and Tezza’s. 2. VSCO VSCO is almost everyone’s go-to app and a great app for filters too! If you prefer to skip Lightroom then definitely don’t skip VSCO! Not only can you edit pictures, but you can edit your videos too. I’m obsessed with the HB1 and HB2 filters and used to ALWAYS apply the A6 filter in my previous editing style. 3. Mextures So Mextures is my GO-TO for the best grit and grain and light leak effects. I love a vintage feel on my images and ALWAYS apply grit and grain. Mextures also has amazing filters to add over landscape images too! This is a paid app but is well worth it! 4. Facetune 2 (with VIP) I just recently downloaded Facetune 2 and LOVE IT! I don’t take many selfies so I use Facetune 2 mainly for the prism tool. It creates this distorted effect on the image (like pictured above) and has some really cool retro filters. I am absolutely obsessed with this app and find myself using it for every image! Facetunes 2…

Top 5 “Button Up” Dresses

What a weird week! We’ve been having some MAJOR June gloom here in Toronto. It’s been cold, grey and honestly just depressing! I was freezing shooting this look and I am so ready for this warm weather to stick around. I mean it’s going to be Summer in a few weeks! Get it together Mother Nature, lol! So one of my favorite pieces in my closet lately has been this little white dress! I’m not sure what the “real” name of this dress is. But we’ll just call it the button up dress. These dresses have been SO popular this Spring season and I’m all about it! The button detailing just adds that extra oomph and it really does scream Summer. I’ve linked my 5 favorite button up dresses for this season… Top 5 “Button Up” Dresses: Zara (buying this one next) Revolve Asos Free People Nordstrom xo Lauren SaveSaveSaveSave SaveSave SaveSave

Currently Crushing On: ALL things Zara

Top | Pants | Bralette | Shoes Can you guys believe it’s hump day already!? Where is this week going! It’s been one of those weeks that are blowing by and I feel like I’m not accomplishing anything, which is the worst! Hopefully, I can get back on track with all my work, getting my house ready to sell and getting pre-approved for a mortgage (which is more work then I remember, lol). Anyways, back to all things fashion, I’ve been LOVING Zara this season. Like, I’ve always been a huge fan of Zara. But DANG they are really killing it this season. I literally can’t get over their collection this season. And, this is no joke, I’ve gone to Zara once a week for the past 4 weeks. Which is excessive, I know, but SO necessary with their on-point pieces! Both my crochet top and trousers are from Zara. The top is just perfect for hot Summer days. And these trousers are sooooo comfy! Like, I’m not wearing pants comfy. You probably need to snag them, lol. I’ve linked both above and some similar options below! 🙂 xo Lauren

Spring Uniform

Top (love this one here) | Shorts | Shoes | Purse | Hat Guys, I have been SO into shorts this season it’s weird. I’ve never been huge into shorts, but this Spring I’ve been grabbing to wear them almost every day! I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been finding a few pairs that I LOVE. Or if my style is changing. But I am obsessed! I’ve been looking for the perfect pair of white shorts for Summer that was high waisted and comfy. These ones fit the bill and the budget (under $40). Zara has some really amazing pieces this season and my wardrobe is basically 99% Zara. So I’m warning you guys, you’re going to see A LOT of Zara this Summer, lol! I really haven’t been talking too much about my personal life on the blog or Instagram lately. And for no particular reason. I am such a private person that when I think about writing a blog post, I don’t think about including personal details. But, I’m really going to try and keep you guys in the loop of my life! Life hasn’t been overly exciting lately. Although, Qais and I have been thinking about moving into the city (which I’ll have more to update you guys on later)! Other then that things have been routine and slow. But sometimes routine and slow is a good thing! 🙂 xo Lauren SaveSave

Top (sold out – similar) | Skirt | Shoes  I really should re-name this blog post 3 Summer essentials I can’t stop wearing, because it is HOT in Toronto. It’s basically Summer temps and guess what? I am LOVING every second so it can stay forever, basically. With warm temps comes the cutest wardrobe essentials. And here are a few pieces I can’t stop wearing this Spring… 3 Spring Pieces I Can’t Stop Wearing: 1. Linen Button Up’s Button up blouses and tops are all the rage this season and I’m all about it! Unlike the classic button-up shirt. This Spring, button up’s have made a return with big contrasting buttons. Frilly sleeves and lightweight material perfect for Spring and Summer. I am all about this trend for its comfort and it’s effortless look. I love wearing my button-up from Zara for meeting’s tucked in jeans. And for a Summer evening out with my hubs tucked into a skirt. It’s really SO versatile and I literally can’t stop wearing it this Spring! 2. Denim Skirts Once again, the classic denim skirt has graced us with her presence! Last Summer I couldn’t get enough of this staple. And this Spring/Summer I can’t get enough of this classic re-mastered with it’s distressed and asymmetrical details! I love wearing my denim skirt with every Spring staple you can think of. Tee’s, tanks and even bikini tops! Hands down the easiest piece to style in my closet. 3. My 5 Favourite Spots in NYC

Qais and I are back from our super quick trip to NYC! I absolutely love NYC and travel there a ton for work. It’s becoming my home away from home! After over 5 years of traveling back and forth between Toronto and NYC, I feel like I have a few must-visit places in the city everytime I’m there. Here are my 5 favourite spots in the big apple… My 5 Favourite Spots in NYC: 1. My favourite place to stay: Ink 48 Hands down, Ink 48 is my go-to hotel in the city. Between its contemporary space, spacious rooms, delicious restaurant in the lobby and breathtaking rooftop this hotel truly has it all! Not to mention Ink 48 has a complimentary happy hour serving red and white wine to guests. I mean, a complimentary happy hour is a big win in my books! The beds are cozy, the pillows are soft and the customer service is really above and beyond. And if you’re looking for a good time without spending $$ on a taxi, the Ink is for you!   2. My favourite place for a cocktail AND a view: The Press Lounge Located on the roof of Ink 48, the Press Lounge is a must visit for a cocktail and a beyond amazing view of Midtown! I can’t get enough of this picturesque space and love spending my nights sipping on rosé and taking in the view while lounging on the outdoor couches. And, don’t worry if you visit in…

Babydoll Romper

Romper | Shoes | Purse | Hat I have a question for you! Have you been to Zara lately? Cause if you haven’t, girrrl, you’ve got to get your tush over there! Zara is killing the game (as usual) and this babydoll romper is a definite must-have in my books! Firstly, does this romper not look like the cutest baby doll dress? And the thing is. It IS a baby doll dress. And it IS a romper too! Major score in my books! I can sit, run, climb (lol jk) and basically do whatever without worrying about my mini dress blowing up. Once I saw this dress I knew I loved it. But once I saw it was a romper I was SOLD. Ca-ching (that’s the register, lol). Sorry, I’m full of bad jokes today! Basically, this blog post is a PSA for you to snag this babydoll romper! It also comes in black too if you’re accident prone wearing all white. Which is me! I’m totally considering getting it in black too though… xo Lauren SaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSave SaveSave
