It’s becoming that time of year again where the malls are getting stocked with lots of sweaters, boots and back-to-school everything! Being a Canadian, this is a little disappointing since we basically spend 9 months in the cold! But, as retail would have it Fall starts in July and so does Fall transitional shopping!
Fall, here in Toronto, can actually start off quite hot. September can be pretty darn humid and we usually have a few weeks of really warm weather in October too. This means, my fall transition clothes tend to be lighter weight so I can layer on-top as the cold weather slowly comes. My favourite thing about buying Fall transitional clothes is styling them for Summer and then layering them for cold weather! My least favourite thing about Fall transitional clothing is spending a lot of $$$ since I like to save my money for the heavy winter jackets and sweaters to come (ugh Winter is the WORST!).
But, to all my Canadian gals do not fret! An easy trip across the border to Buffalo will have all your Fall transitional, back-to-school, and Winter needs met! First off, my trip to the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls, USA was super quick and straight forward from Toronto. I’ve been to Buffalo for some across the border shopping before, but, I’ve never been to the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls. And I can say I was definitely missing out on such crazy low prices on items that would have easily cost me an additional $30+ back at home!
One of my favourite stops was Saks Off 5th because the selection was huge and the prices were incredibly low. Now, we have a Saks Off 5th in Toronto too. But I can say with confidence that the prices are not even as low as you’ll find them at the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls. If you don’t believe me, the proof is in these Dolce Vita sandals that I actually snagged for $16.97 from $150! No, I am not kidding! Crazy!
Another favourite of mine was Forever 21. I’ve literally never seen prices this low at any Canadian F21! My dress and vest cost me only $42 all together! I mean, how crazy is that! I also did so many price checks on some basic items I’ve seen at Canadian F21’s, and they were easily $10-$20 below what we would pay here in Toronto!
And for all you ladies with a special man in your life, he too will easily find so many shops he’ll love! My hubby’s fave was Timberland where he snagged a pair of shoes for only $80, which originally retailed for $140 back at home! That plus the immense amount of seating in the mall made him quite happy, lol!
Some other major faves that we are deprived of here in Canada was PacSun (which had an amazing selection of denim for under $50) and the Charlotte Russe Outlet! I shopped at both and had to be basically dragged out of PacSun, lol! The Steve Madden outlet store was also amazing and had in-season shoes that were all 30%-50% off! I was so tempted to grab some but had already bought 2 pairs of shoes from Saks! Which I honestly didn’t need but when one pair is reduced to $16.97 and the other is reduced to $49.99 from $140 you buy both!
If you are a designer babe, then Fashion Outlets of Niagara, USA is for you too! They have designer stores such as Burberry, Coach, Cole Haan, Kate Spade plus much more with over 200 designers with up to 75% off!
Dress: Forever 21 ( $12 USD at Fashion Outlets – $20.90 CAD online)| Vest: Forever 21 ($29 USD at Fashion Outlets – $43.90 CAD online) | Purse: Foley + Corinna c/o | Shoes: Sam Edelman ($49 USD at Fashion Outlets) | Shoes: Dolce Vita ($16 USD from $150 at Fashion Outlets Saks Off 5th – $50 CAD online) | Sunglasses: Shades Crush c/o | Bracelet: Paul Hewitt
My verdict: If you are Canadian and need a good day (or weekend) of some money saving shopping then you need to head to 1900 Military Rd, Niagara Falls, NY 14304! The hubs and I have already planned another trip back for the end of August to stock up on all cold weather essentials, which I can’t wait for!
Oh and quick pro shopping tip.. don’t forget to fuel up on some Dunkin’ Donuts to help keep you shopping all day long, which is conveniently located within the mall!
And don’t forget to obtain your additional savings pass to the Fashion Outlets here!
You can also enter their Back to School event starting August 7 – September 1 for a chance to win $50 mall gift card and to support the Fashion Outlet’s donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Niagara Falls! Details below:
From Monday, August 7 through Friday, September 1, Fashion Outlets Niagara Falls, USA is asking its customers to ‘Share Fashionably’ when they shop for the upcoming season. Not only will shoppers have the chance to win a Fashion Outlets gift card, but they’ll also have the opportunity to help give back to the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club.
Entering to win is as easy as using the hashtag, #ShareFashionably. To participate, shoppers should snap a picture while back-to-school shopping at Fashion Outlets. Show us all those shopping bags, your favorite back-to-school apparel finds, or maybe those shoes you’d splurge on if you won! Visit Fashion Outlets’ Facebook page starting on August 7 and comment on the weekly #ShareFashionably contest post with your photo submission.
Every Friday throughout the duration of the contest, we’ll be randomly selecting an entry to win a $50 gift card. And, to help share with the local community, for each contest entry received, Fashion Outlets will donate $5 to the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club (up to $500). Now we call that a win-win.

LOVE your outfit! Those shoes are too cute! I love the fall weather. I think it’s my favorite season. In PA, it feels like fall and–so much so, I’ve worn a sweater the past two days! Very rare for PA in July!
So chic! Love this look for a sophisticated summer event.
Loving this! Sadly for me this outfit is something I could not get away with wearing in fall because it gets so cold! However I could see my self utilizing any of these pieces in a way that would work! Thanks for sharing!! xxx
