Top 5 Overall Dresses for Fall! (all under $100)

Dress: Zara | Top: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Boots: Marc Fisher | Purse: Aldo | Sunglasses: Shades Crush Anyone else feel like this Fall has so many good trends? I mean between the baker boy caps and bell sleeves I am just loving what this season’s trends have to offer! One trend I really wanted to try was the overall dress or the dungaree dress. Now, this trend has been around since Summer. But Fall just felt like the right time to jump on the bandwagon, if you will! One of my favourite things about the overall dress is how many ways you can style it! It’s so cute with bell sleeves under (my personal fave) or with a t-shirt. It’s such an easy trend to pull off for basically anyone. Plus, it looks so cute with over-the-knee boots or even with fresh white kicks! So many ways to style this little dress and so little time, cause it’s already freezing here in Toronto lol! Because I am loooooving this trend here are my top 5 overall dresses! Let me know which is your fave in the comments below. Top 5 Overall Dresses (all under $100): Zara Revolve (next on my list to buy!) ASOS H&M Shein xo Lauren

5 Ways to be Productive When Working for Yourself

Since my early twenties, I have been an entrepreneur and have been working for myself. I’ve learned a lot over the past few years about being your own boss (which isn’t easy, especially when you’re young) and wanted to share a few of my tips on keeping productive while working for yourself! And if you don’t work for yourself but blog on the side, then this post is definitely for you too! 1. Create a schedule and stick to it The hardest part of being your own boss is motivating yourself to work. Sometimes all you do is procrastinate and then nothing ever gets accomplished. A key start to successfully working for yourself is creating a schedule and always sticking to it! When it comes to my day job I have my days of work, hours and what days I have off all scheduled on a company calender like an employee. When it comes to my blog schedule I always set which days I am doing what, the time I am doing it and what exactly I’ll be doing. I personally don’t use anything to schedule myself for my blog, because I set myself into a consistent routine and that works for me (which is usually shooting looks on days off and working on everything else mornings and evenings)! But, using a physical planner or using your calendar on your phone is a great way to keep track of your work and time! 2. Turn off all your distractions And when…

Sweater: Rylee & Cru | Bodysuit: Missguided | Jeans: Zara | Shoes: Sam Edelman | Purse: Foley + Corinna | Hat: H&M | Sunglasses: Forever 21 (similar)   Yay for Friday and for the weekend! I fly out to New York tomorrow for a quick business trip. I love going to New York (and wish I could’ve had my business trip during NYFW) and love how inspired I feel after I leave. Just something about that New York energy makes you want to work harder and achieve more, lol! I’ll probably be bringing this fuzzy cardigan with me on the flight tomorrow. There is nothing better than a big warm cardigan to layer with. It’s such an essential for the colder weather and a staple piece, in my opinion! I went on a purging spree a few months back and gave away ALL of my winter items. Including all my beloved cardigans. So I really need to start shopping for some new sweaters, cardigans and all that good stuff! And although, I am the self-titled Basic Babe. I like my cardigans to have a little bit more edge. Top 5 Mustard Dresses for Fall

Dress: Zara | Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Purse: H&M (on sale!!) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Happy Monday! Yesterday was such a great day here at the Sheriff’s house. We rented an SUV and took an impromptu day trip out to Prince Edward County (it’s about two hours east of Toronto). It’s a beautiful county, with a lot of small towns within it, wineries, and a lot of really good food! So Qais and I packed our puppies and headed out bright and early to get some time away from our regular hustle and bustle. Nothing is better than planning a last-minute trip to just shut off your busy mind and to discuss and plan your future. It was so wonderful and relaxing! I hope all of you guys had a relaxing weekend too! I posted this dress a few days ago on my Instagram and it was a big hit. Fall is right around the corner and to be honest, I am so ready for it! I love getting ready for a new season. It brings new goals, new opportunities and, most importantly, a new wardrobe! 😉 I’ve always been into the colour mustard for Fall. It’s just so flattering on everybody and just encumbers everything Fall is about. I mean that and the PSL, am I right? In honor of the new season ahead and my new obsession with this mustard dress from Zara. I decided to round up my top 5 mustard dresses I am totally loving for Fall! Top…

Top 5 Vests for Summer

Vest: Dynamite | Top: Dynamite (similar) | Pants: Missguided | Purse: Foley + Corinna c/o | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Bracelet: Paul Hewitt c/o | Choker: Mejuri c/o | Shoes: Sam Edelman Guys, as you know I am currently obsessed with sleeveless vests! I don’t know what has come over me but I absolutely love wearing a flowy vest with a tight dress or a pair of cigarette pants, jeans, shorts you name it! I feel like it pulls my look together and gives a chic and sophisticated vibe to the outfit. And what girl wouldn’t want that?! I’m literally cray cray for vests, lol! This blush vest was definitely an impulse buy, and boy, was it totally worth it! I was at an outlet mall looking for a pair of black pumps and decided to pop into Dynamite. When I walked in it was basically calling my name, lol! And no matter how much I tried to resist it, I just couldn’t and took it home with me. I’ve already worn it 5 times and I’ve only had it little over a week. So was it worth it? Yes, definitely, yes! Also, real quick, these cigarette pants from Misguided has been on my must have list for a while. As you guys know, I’m not much of a jean girl. I just prefer a good pair of trousers and this is that! They fit true to size and are extremely flattering. I also love how soft and roomy they are for…

Top 5 Mesh Pieces for Summer

Top: H&M (similar) | Skirt: Missguided (on sale!) | Shoes: J Adams c/o (under $40 + available in a ton of colours!) | Clutch: H&M | Sunglasses: Shade Crush c/o  I’ve been dying to try this mesh trend for a while, but haven’t cared much for some of the styles I’ve previously seen. I saw a lot that were mesh maxi dresses with floral embroidery, and tops as well. I don’t like the idea of having to buy a slip under a dress or a tank to put under a see through mesh shirt, so I decided to pass on both styles! Personally, I like when a dress or top come with something underneath to make it not see through! But, when I saw this embroidered pencil skirt number on Missguided, I decided to give it a go! It is an extremely cute trendy piece to have in your Summer wardrobe that’s for sure! I would suggest sizing up since it is a little on the small side, and I was barely able to breathe in my true size, lol! I really liked pairing it with this basic crop top from h&m ($3.99!!), and thought it would even be cute with a basic white tee too! Honestly, this won’t be a piece that will get a ton of rotation in my wardrobe. But, it’s really cute and unique and a great show stopper to pull out on date night! With that being said, here are my top 5 faaaaaaave mesh pieces…

Qais and I have been getting are house ready to go on the market. Which means so much cleaning, so much organising and throwing out pretty much all of my winter clothes! Which is okay, since I told Qais I’ll just need a whole new wardrobe for Winter ;), lol! But, all in all, Qais and I are just so excited to move into a new condo. Something about moving feels like a fresh start and it’s just exciting entering into a new season of life!  So I’ve been really into white shirt dresses the summer! So much so, I already have another white shirt dress blog post here! Qais, though, isn’t so much of a fan of them. He always tells me I look like I’m in a nurses costume, lol! But I am totally in love with this white shirt dress from Missguided. You can wear this shirt dress with almost anything, and it always looks fab! It’s just such an easy piece to have in your closet, and I mean why not have a white shirt dress you can wear up or down, to work, or on date night!
