Fall Must: Olive Trousers + Knit Bell Sleeves

Trousers: TopShop | Top: F21 (similar here and here) | Purse: Official Basso c/o | Sunglasses: Nicole Miller c/o | Watch: Daniel Wellington c/o | Shoes: Aldo Okay, you guys, I love a good pair of trousers! I mean a good pair of trousers are first, SO flattering, and second so versatile and go with everythaaang! And trust me, you do know want to know how many times I’ve worn these trousers since I bought them two weeks ago. Probably way too many times but I am so obsessed! I got these olive trousers from TopShop for $75 – and they are worth every penny! The fit is right on and they are seriously so comfy! They are lightweight and are cuffed and cropped right above the ankle (another detail I love). I would totally say these are a Fall must and really even a staple. I’ve worn them in NYC for a tradeshow, for work and even with a crop top for date night. They are seriously SO versatile. Also, another item you need in your closet is a bell sleeve top! This knit white bell sleeve just gives me all the feels. I love the softness, the fit and how big the bell sleeves are. I’ve also worn this top way too many times then I care to share. But hey, clothes are meant to be worn and the more wears I get the merrier! This top I would definitely recommend buying. It’s apart of the F21 contemporary collection, which I…

Mixing Summer and Fall Pieces

Bodysuit: Missguided | Skirt: Boohoo | Bag: Similar | Watch: Daniel Wellington c/o | Sunglasses: Shades Crush c/o | Shoes: J Adams c/o Happy Monday! It has been BRUTALLY hot here in Toronto. Summer decided to come at Fall, which is great, and I’ll take it, but it would’ve been nice to have this weather last month, lol! When I shot this look I was seriously dripping sweat. I don’t know why I decided to wear a sweater bodysuit, but hey, in the name of fashion, right? The one perk about this warm Summer weather is getting a little extra wear out of my Summer wardrobe. I love incorporating Summer pieces where I can and they can sometimes make the cutest outfits! I bought this gingham skirt from Boohoo in July (I think). Gingham has been huge this past season and I really love the print! I’ve also been adding in some long sleeves and sweaters for Fall. When I saw this mustard rib bodysuit from Missguided I knew it had to be mine. I love bodysuits and not having to keep tucking my top in. Plus, the off the shoulder on this bodysuit just makes it that much more fun! Also, I think it’s time for a few new purses here at Basic Babe!! I’ve been rocking the same few non-stop all Summer. Does anyone else have a hard time find purses they love to add to the rotation?! xo Lauren

3 Easy Tips on How To Shop Lower Priced Jackets (that look expensive!)

Jacket: Shein (only $40!) | Top: Zara | Leggings: Below the Belt (similar) | Purse: H&M (love this one here) | Sunglasses: Shades Crush Happy Friday! This week has been a whirlwind since I got back from NYC! It’s just been busy, busy, busy trying to catch up with work, life and of course the blog. Does anyone else come home from NYC 5 pounds heavier? Lol! I seriously can’t contain my appetite when I’m there! The food is just too good and I always tend to overeat and pay for it when I return home! Also, my wallet is always a lot lighter when I return home if you know what I mean, lol!! Talking about lighter wallets, I love a good jacket, but also love having a selection of jackets. That being said though, I do always splurge on my winter jacket (cause this girl can’t take the cold), but always like to have a few “fashion” jackets on hand. One of those jackets would be a moto jacket! I love a black moto jacket. They go with everything and can really turn any simple outfit into an edgy and trendy one! As much as I love the classic moto I am not always a huge fan of the price. I honestly don’t have the budget to spend $500+ on a nice leather moto jacket. As much as I’d LOVE to, I just can’t! So, I’ve learned a few tips over the years on how to shop…

I jet back home today, but I’m trying to take in every last second here in the big city. New York is such a fun place and gives me all the style inspo feels, lol! I come to this city a few times a year and each time I come I always tell Qais if we don’t end up moving to LA we are moving to NYC. LA just has my heart because of the warm weather! Okay, I am so into kimonos! I really have always been into kimonos, so when I saw they are back in style I knew I had to get at least one showstopper kimono! Walk in Wonderland featured this kimono on her Instagram. I was SO obsessed with the kimono, but she didn’t link it and I figured it was probably out of my price range anyways! Then one day I was shopping at Zara and saw it on the rack. I ran over and tried on the last size they had left. Which was a medium but a little too big. Plus, I wasn’t a huge fan of the price ($89.95). It was nice but not $89.95 nice, lol! Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I stumbled upon the EXACT same kimono at Shein. And this is why I LOVE Shein. They always have the same thing as…

Top: Missguided (sold out – similar) | Jeans: Zara | Boots: Marc Fisher (ON SALE – under $200!) | Purse: Old Navy (similar) | Sunglasses: Shades Crush c/o So if you’ve been following me for awhile you’ll know my love for over-the-knee boots is REAL! I would literally live in these boots all Fall and Winter long if it was possible. I’d also wear them with every outfit on my blog if that was possible too. But I think you guys would get real bored of that, lol! In all seriousness though. I am just a lover of all boots over-the-knee. And this year is the first year I decided to #treatmyself and buy a nicer pair of boots! I snagged these at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale for just under $200 and I’m in love. I know that’s not much to spend on boots, but your girl bought a pair of black #otk for under $100 last year! And I would never spend so little again after having these babies on my feet, lol! They fit TTS, are made of high-quality faux suede and are the perfect pointed toe! They also stay up on your leg when you’re wearing them with a dress. Which is amazing! I struggled with my otk boots falling down every time I took a step last year, lol! So if you are in the market for a new pair of over-the-knee boots, look no further! These are awesome and ON SALE! So a total win-win. xo…

Top: Tobi c/o | Skirt: H&M (this colour isn’t available online – other colours here)| Purse: H&M (similar) | Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Sunglasses: Shades Crush c/o I have never honestly been a midi girl until this Summer. I’ve always thought I was waaaaaaay too short to wear a midi skirt until I randomly bought one from Boohoo a few months back. You can see that skirt here. After rocking this skirt all Summer long I decided to add another midi to my closet! It was actually Qais who sniped this skirt first. Which is weird since he always zones out when we go shopping, lol! He told me he really liked it and so I decided to try it on and LOVED it! It reminds me of Christmas, for whatever reason, and I think I’ll be wearing it to church for our Christmas Eve service. Majorly thinking ahead, I know! Anyway, I am really into this colour and the pleats are just perfect! I wanted to make it not look so dressed up so I paired it with this lace up sleeve crop from Tobi. Which, would totally look cute with some high waisted denim too! I wasn’t sure if I could pull this top off since I tend to gravitate to a bit more feminine. But I think it really works with this skirt! PS.. you may see this skirt again in the next few weeks with a dainty blouse! I just love it that much!!…
